I recently saw the exhibition Off the Wall Part One: Thirty Performative Actions at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York. I am wondering still if Wilke is understood for her specific formal approach. Her work harbors a complexity that is not merely redeemed by including Wilkes artwork amongst the overwhelming amount of performance art surveys currently on view.
